Technical and Historical Notes: The AMX-119C Martin Custom was a custom built suit that would eventually become the bases of the Geara Doga of the Second Neo Zeon. At the time, the AMX-119C was considered a high preformance mobile suit. It was a large, heavy mobile suit with a powerful reactor to offset its weight giving it high preformance numbers. This however came at the cost of being a highly visible due to its power signiture.

Background Info:
The FAM-79 Full-Armor GM was designed to be a mass-produced version of the FA-78-1 Full Armor and FA-78-2 Heavy Gundams. With additional armor, (most notibly on the lower legs and on the shoulders,) the Full Armor GM could withstand more enemy hits than a normal GM. The armament of the Full-Armor GM was also increased over that of the standard GM. In addition to the beam saber and the two 60mm head vulcans already in the design, a 360mm rocket launcher over the right shoulder (based off of the 360mm rocket launcher used on the RGC-80 GM Cannon,) a small 8-round missile launcher on the left shoulder (based off of the one used on the FA-78-1 Full Armor Gundam,) and a hand-grenade rack on the left hip, were all installed as well. To increase its firepower even further, the Full-Armor GM also had a stronger reactor, allowing it to wield a beam rifle quite similar to the kind used by the RX-78-2 Gundam. Other optional hand-held weaponry included storage space on the inside edge of the GM Shield for either three large grenades, or two spare machinegun clips, (for if the pilot chose to take a slug-throwing machinegun, instead of a beam rifle,) and a beam spray gun, (which could be stored on a rack on the right hip, which allowed the unit to take at least two hand-held guns into battle.)
However, all this new armor and weaponry came at the expense of making the suit a lot more massive than the standard GM, which meant a large decrease in performance. To try to offset this problem, several thrusters were added onto the lower legs, and a backpack with more powerful thrusters was installed. This resulted in the Full-Armor GM’s performance nearly matching the standard GM’s in virtually every way, (except production costs,) and earned it the nickname of “Perfect GM” by its test-pilots, who marveled in its ability to be used as an artillery unit, as well as a more general-purpose unit.

MSN-07B-X Support Packs

Perhaps the greatest asset of the MSN-07B-X Guardian Of Universal Freedoms was its variable use “Support Packs”. Each pack was designed to augment the GOUF’s combat abilities in a certain field granting it expanded capabilities. There were Five standard packs designed for the GOUF the X19a Flight Pack, the GOUF’s standard pack which granted the suit enhanced flight abilities. The other packs were the X19c, a Combat Support Pack that granted the GOUF additional weapons in the form of missiles and Combat Thrusters. The X19g, a Fire Support Pack that gave the GOUF two shoulder mounted Beam Gatling guns allowing it to supply ranged support. And the X19w, an underwater operations pack that gave the GOUF much needed underwater capabilities and weapons. The X19b gave the mobile suit artillery abilities. And a final pack, the X19e was developed after the GOUFs final development stage and official launch.

Name: X19f Flight Pack
Unit Type: Mobile Suit Flight Pack/Atmospheric Flight Support System
Manufacturer: Anaheim Electronics
Operators(s):Anti-Earth Union Group
First Deployment: Circa UC 0087
Dimensions: Overall length: 16m
Propulsion: Main Thrusters 2 x 32000kg, Light Thrusters 2 x 24000kg, Vernier thrusters/apogee motors: 4
Equipment and Design features: Sensors, range 2000 meters; Computer Brain; High Mobility Aerial Tactics Mode (HiMAT Mode)
Fixed Armaments: 2 x Beam Cannons power rated at 2 MW, 4 x 40mm Machine Guns (forward oriented), 2 x 40mm Machine Gun Turrets

Technical Notes: The Guardian Of Universal Freedoms flight pack, known as the MSN-07B-X19a Flight Pack, is a one of a kind system developed from a prototype of the thruster system on the MSN-00100 Hyaku Shiki. In addition to the GOUF’s standard 5 Thrusters and 6 Apogee motors, the Flight Pack add 2 additional main thrusters, two light thrusters, 4 Apogee motors and a wing set and to aid in Space and Atmospheric operations. The wings were capable of rotating 90o allowing the GOUF to fly upright or in a ‘prone’ flight position. The four thrusters are powerful enough to maintain the GOUF’s location within 1 meter of stationary hovering in atmosphere while firing a weapon.

The Pack was equipped with two beam cannons that can be fired over the shoulders or while in flight, forward like a fighters cannons. When not in use the cannons slid down down into the flight pack. The Cannons are rated at 2 MW of power putting each just under half as powerful as the beam rifle used by the GOUF. Additional offensive power is provided by four 40mm machine guns oriented forward. These guns are spaced so that they don’t fire inline with the GOUF’s shoulder spikes. Two additional 40mm guns on ball turrets are mounted on the pack for defensive weaponry allowing the GOUF to attack units behind itself.

The Pack, and its duplicates, could fly own their own via remote control and an onboard computer, allowing them to act as support craft. Three known flight packs were known to have been built.

Name: X19c Combat Support Pack
Unit Type: Mobile Suit Combat Support System
Manufacturer: Anaheim Electronics
Operators(s):Anti-Earth Union Group
First Deployment: Circa UC 0087
Dimensions: Overall length: 8m
Propulsion: Main Thrusters 2 x 32000kg, Light Thrusters 3 x 24000kg, Vernier thrusters/apogee motors: 4
Equipment and Design features: Sensors, range 2000 meters: Computer Brain
Fixed Armaments: 2 x Swarmer Missile Launchers

Technical notes: The X19c Combat Support Pack was designed to augment the GOUF’s space combat capabilities. Like the X19a the X19c augments speed and maneuverability the level that it enhances it is limited however. Instead the X19c features two “Swarmer Missile Launchers” one on each side of the pack. These launchers carry a large number of missiles, between 28 and 42 in each pod. These missiles give the GOUF long range abilities, and artillery capabilities that it and its predecessor otherwise lacked.

Name: X19B Artillery Support Pack
Unit Type: Mobile Suit Fire Support System
Manufacturer: Anaheim Electronics
Operators(s):Anti-Earth Union Group
First Deployment: Circa UC 0087
Dimensions: Overall length: 6m
Propulsion: N/A
Equipment and Design features: N/A
Fixed Armaments: 2 x 100mm rail cannons, mounted on backpack over shoulders, HUNTER

Technical notes:
During the One Year War the Federations RX-77-2 Guncannon and RX-74-4 Guntank proved to be very effective. So effective in fact that Zeon even created the MS-06K Zaku Cannon and MS-14C Gelgoog Cannon. The advent of a Fire Support mobile suit did little to change the outcome of the war, as the process was not perfected till the final weeks, but the design mentality stuck with Zeon designers who would later come to work for Anaheim Electronics.

Though the MSN-07B-X was not designed as a fire support mobile suit its modular pack design did allow for a fire support pack to be created. Like the X19g the X19b pack is meant to give the suit the ability to support from a distance. Two 180mm Rail Cannons mounted on a backpack sit over the GOUFs shoulders. The Cannons have an incredible range, able to hit targets beyond the GOUFs sensor or visual range. To assist with this the units pack can fire HUNTER drones (Hight altitude Unit Navigated Tactical ImagE Rounds) that deploy and hover over an area transmitting target information.

Name: X19g Fire Support Pack
Unit Type: Mobile Suit Fire Support System
Manufacturer: Anaheim Electronics
Operators(s):Anti-Earth Union Group
First Deployment: Circa UC 0087
Dimensions: Overall length: 6m
Propulsion: Main Thrusters 2 x 32000kg
Equipment and Design features: N/A
Fixed Armaments: 2 x Gatling Beam Cannons power rated at 2.5 MW

Technical notes:
The X19g is the simplest of the MSN-07B-X’s support Packs. Instead of increasing speed, or manuverability it simply gives the GOUF two high powered rapid fire Beam Cannons based on the Gattling design. The Cannons have the benefit of taking a long time to overheat, as the barrels rotate they cool, either via the air of via the cold of vacuum. The downside of this is it takes a few seconds to charge up the capacitor in the rear of the cannon before it can fire. The Capacitors however allow it to operate with very little energy drain on the GOUF’s reactor.

Name: X19w Underwater Support Pack
Unit Type: Mobile Suit Underwater Support System
Manufacturer: Anaheim Electronics
Operators(s):Anti-Earth Union Group
First Deployment: Circa UC 0087
Dimensions: Overall length: 14m
Propulsion: Main Thrusters 2 x 32000kg, maneuvering thrusters: 2
Equipment and Design features: Sensors, range 2000 meters; Computer brain
Fixed Armaments: 1 x Beam Cannon power rated at 1.6 MW; 2 x Torpedo Canister Pods, mounted on pack: 4 x Close Combat Blades, mounted in shields, deployed in combat, 4 x Impact Claws, mounted on shields

Technical notes:
Like the X18w, to witch it is a mear modification of,  the X19w Underwater Support Pack is a very specalized piece of equipment. It is designed to aid a mobile suit in reaching water, then operating in it. Four thrusters, two main, and two maneuvering thrusters, provide propulsion under water. The Two main thrusters are capable of supporting low speed low altatude flight above water to allow the suit to reach its aquatic operating ground.

Similar to the X18w the X19w is armed with a single nose mounted Beam Cannon rated at 1.6 MW suplimented with two torpedo pods based on the MS-06M SUBROC Gun. Each rocket is designed to pierce the armor of its target and detonate, creating a cavity that water pressure rushes into causing a collapse. The rockets also have a limited range outside of water but their damage is limited. Four combat spikes are mountd inside the shield can be deploed for close range combat to grab a hold of a target and crush it. And four Impact claws like those on the X18c Combat Pack alow for the GOUF to punch through a targets armor.

Technical Notes: The X18a Flight Pack was designed by Anaheim Electronics as an equipment back pack to grant a mobile suit additional abilities in space and in atmosphere, and the first of the X18 Series of mobile suit packs. The pack had a universal connector allowing it to connect and operate with numerous mobile suits, even models used as far back as the One Year War. The suits high powered thrusters allowed test models such as the MS-06F Zaku II preform on par with modern units. The unit was also designed to be a Subflight system, allowing it to assist a mobile suit in atmospheric entry. The Underside of the unit is layered with a heat resistant alloy in addition to its lunar titanium (Gundarium) alloy.

The X18a Flight Pack/Subflight System is the predecessor to the MSN-07b-X19a Flight Pack used by the MSN-07b-X19a Guardian Of Universal Freedoms. The similarities between the two packs is visually clear, with the X19a clearly looking like a more streamline and andvaced X18a. The weapons systems of the X18a and X19a are identical with the only advances between the two models coming in the form of miniaturized power and thruster systems. It was also possible to refit an X18a into an X19a.

Fixed Armaments: 2 x Beam Cannons power rated a 2 MW; 2 x Beam Shield power rated at 0.2 MW, mounted on shields; 2 x shields on actuator arms; 4 x Impact Claws mounted on shields

Technical Notes: The X18c Combat Pack was the second pack designed by Anaheim Electronics as a supplement to a Mobile Suits standard capabilities. Where the X18a gave the attached mobile suit increased speed and maneuverability in space and atmospheric operations, the X18c added to a suits combat and defensive abilities. The packs three main thrusters granted a slight boost to speed but with only three vernier thrusters it added little if anything to a suits maneuverability.

Where the X18c shines at is its armament. Its primary armament is a pair of heavy beam guns rated at 2 MW in power. These guns are placed on the pack so that it can move around the arms of a standard sized mobile suit. This allows the beam guns to fire in three standard positions. The standard position is folded so the guns are pointed ‘down’, this is generally the rest position, but they can fire in this position, at enemies below the suit (or behind if flying). While flying the cannons aim ‘up’ allowing the suit to function as a sort of fighter plane, and while standing the guns can aim forward. Despite these ’standard positions’ the two beam guns can aim at any angle between the ‘up’ and ‘down’ positions. On either side of the pack is a large shield. These shields are mounted on actuator arms, jointed where the arms meet the pack, the shield, and an elbow joint along the center of the arm. The shields are comprised of a mixture of Gundarium alloy and regular Titanium allowing them to take large amounts of damage before failing.

Mounted on the sides of each shield is an emitter system based on the Beam Saber. Instead of generating a blade of Minovsky Particle Plasma contained inside a magnetic field it emits four wide and them beams that combine into a ‘beam shield’. The beams from these emitters are weaker then even One Year War beam sabers and as such don’t work well as weapons but are capable of blocking other beam weapons. High powered weapons however can easily pierce the shield and extended contact with weapons like a beam saber can overload the emitter. As a final offensive option at the ‘tip’ of each shield is a set of ‘impact claws’ made of ‘hardened gundarium’. These claws are designed to punch through the armor of enemy mobile suits or ships.

Name: X18w Underwater Combat Pack
Unit Type: Mobile Suit Aquatic Support Pack
Manufacturer: Anaheim Electronics
Operator(s): Anti-Earth Union Group; Various
First Deployment: UC Unknown
Dimensions: overall length: 14m
Weight:
Propulsion: Thrusters 2 x 17100 kg; maneuvering thrusters: 3
Equipment and design features: Sensors, range 2000 meters; Computer brain
Fixed Armaments: 1 x Beam Cannons power rated a 1.6 MW; 2 x Torpedo Canister pods, mounted on pack; 4 x close combat blades, mounted in shields, deployed in combat.

Technical Notes: The X18w Underwater Pack was the most specialized Mobile Suit Support pack of the X18 series designed by Anaheim Electronics. While the X18a and X18c increased a mobile suits speed and offensive ability in space and atmosphere the X18w was designed soley to grant a Mobile Suit underwater capabilities. The suits design was fairly simple, and based primarily off the X18c redesigned for underwater preformance. For propulsion it reatured four thrusters, two regular thrusters and two maneuvering thrusters. The thrusters were weaker then those on the X18a and X18c, and not sutable for heavy atmospheric or space operation.

Instead of two beam cannons a single ‘nose’ cannon was mounted suplimented with two pods based of the MS-06M SUBROC (SUBmarine ROCket) gun with six tubes. The torpedoes have ’super cavitating warheads’ denoting the fact that they are designed to pierce the armor of a target and explode creating a cavity that water preasure would then cause to collapse. The rockets are capable of use outside of water but are limited in their range and their destructive power is lessened. For close range combat each shield contains ‘combat spikes’ designed to grab and pierce an enemy suit or sub.
